so, this is the purpose of the trip :

I need your help to get through the 3000 km tour so that we can together raise some readies for Kaibosh Food Rescue.

Kaibosh is an amazing charity in Wellington that has a far-reaching effect supporting so many other charities, and the idea is simple – they nip about town rescuing food from eateries and the like that would have otherwise been thrown away, then they sort it out and give it to those who need it.

Other charities can begin to rely on Kaibosh for a certain amount of their food, so they can then start to focus their own expenditure and time on the good they’re trying to do … mostly looking after other Wellingtonians who find themselves struggling.

isn’t that a great idea?! 

Kaibosh need financial support for their operations, including the pick-up trucks, food storage and refrigeration, and running a skeleton admin staff who seem to work very hard.

They say a $10 donation can provide as many as 16 meals, while $100 gets around 163 meals – crikey!
